Credit skills & lending for absolute beginners

This two day course provides a basic and simple introduction to lending skills and underwriting in banking and finance. Learn to assess lending cases using simple approaches to credit risk evaluation, written specifically for delegates with no credit training background.

Learn the skills needed to gather information to support a lending request, and quickly analyse the quality of credit using basic analytical tools. Learn the five simple steps to writing a compelling credit report for underwriting.

The course will use practical worked examples, including accounting information and credit reference data, helping you form lending decisions on typical lending proposals. Working in small groups, you will practice and build your credit assessment skills, and will leave the course confident in your ability to prepare quality credit reports independently.
